Locals and beer buffs alike love Crosby’s newest micropub, The Corner Post. Run by Geoff Smeaton, who used to work in customer services, the cosy Corner Post has five handpumps serving a variety of changing cask ales and real cider.

The Four Ashes is the latest micropub to open in Crosby and is already a firm favourite with locals. In fact, when owners Rob and Sue Ashe (right) took a trip to Cuba to celebrate their silver wedding with children Gerard and Catherine, regulars were so keen for the pub – named after the four members of the Ashe family – to stay open that they gave up their free time to keep it running.
