Home care, Preston, home help, Preston

Every day, paramedic Charlotte Wright meets people who need a helping hand to make life easier. Such as this 92-year-old Penwortham customer (pictured right).

She read a leaflet Charlotte posted through the door advertising her home care business – and has not looked  back. She said: “My daughter is very good to me but there are things she cannot do and sometimes she and her husband want to go away on holiday .

“We interviewed Charlotte at the start of this year and she has been exceptional. Everything she does is of the highest standard – she is as good as my daughter!”

After 23 years with the North West Ambulance Service, mum-of-two Charlotte, 46, was tiring of shift work so, with full agreement of her bosses in Wigan, she launched her home care business last October while remaining in work.

She and her two carefully chosen staff, Barbara Littlefair and Dawn Kitchen, help with practical tasks but do not yet offer personal care.

She said: “We all value our independence and home is home. Happily there is no need to leave it if the right support is in place and that’s what we are all about.”

For the client pictured, Charlotte cleans, tidies, does the bedding and occasionally does errands or takes her out.

Her services are seen (below) and it’s not just older people she helps  – she has disabled clients, too. Charlotte works for all customers first before involivng any of her DBS-checked staff .

She adds: “I’m reliable and trustworthy and I like to think I’m kind and compassionate and I enjoy listening.to people. I believe I offer a really good service _ what I would offer for my own parents – and I wear my own clothes, not a uniform, so my visits do not draw attention.”

Charlotte, who is fully insured, fills in a care plan and log so family members can see exactly what has happened. Ring to find out more.
