Upvc windows and doors, Longridge, Preston, Ribble Valley

Quality is key for Longridge-based uPVC manufacturer Simon Woodward. An ex-professional footballer, he takes a professional pride in providing top quality uPVC products – doors, windows, conservatories and orangeries – to the public and trade customers.

The emphasis on quality is paying off –  2015 was busier than ever. Simon’s products have got even better after he swapped to market leaders Rehau – the Mercedes of the uPVC world – for his plastic suppliers and began manufacturing his own composite doors using Solidor products. Conservatories use the Ultraframe roof system.

His ethos is simple: “There are people in the window industry who sell cheap products and nothing lasts. We use the best fittings – locks, handles, hinges. We don’t believe in going to replace things a couple of years later.”

His firm makes the popular black and coloured  frames, as well as more traditional white and wood colours.

Simon, 43, has spent 21 years in the uPVC industry after injury ended his career as a centre half at York City. After production manager roles, he and wife Carla bought out his last boss eight years ago at the Longridge unit where they employ eight people making up to 300 units a week.

Energy saving is vital and uPVC manufacturers whose products show the coloured energy ratings must be licensed by the regulatory body, BFRC, as is Ribble Valley Windows.

Simon says people can be certain their products –  guaranteed for 10 years – meet all industry standards. “We pride ourselves on excellent support and customer service,” he adds.
