For a man who makes his living out of waste, David Kippax looks remarkably spick and span.
It’s a point of pride to keep clean as he removes the waste from household septic tanks in the Garstang, Lancaster and Preston areas..
David left farming in 1994 to set up his Great Eccleston-based business.
His 2,000 gallon tanker has a powerful suction that empties tanks from up to 40 metres away.
It will also remove sludge from ornamental garden ponds and empty fat traps of pubs, hotels and restaurants.
If you’ve an overflowing septic tank or an emergency, David will do his best to be swiftly on site.“People panic beyond belief over septic tanks,” he adds. “They can be genuinely frightened of them.”
David specialises in isolated tanks – he can reach “just about anywhere” – and supplies enzymes to speed up the breakdown process.
He is a registered waste carrier and empties his vehicle at the United Utilities waste treatment works at Stodday, Lancaster.
He also owns powerful jetting equipment which will unblock drains and power clean footpaths and driveways without the need for chemicals.
David is an approved contractor for Lancashire County and Wyre Borough councils.
