If you’ve had a stroke, good physiotherapy is vital to regain as much movement as possible.
This is just one service offered by chartered physiotherapist Michaela Adam, owner of the Moor Park centre, who was a physio on Chorley Hospital’s acquired brain injury team for eight years. She has 15 years’ experience in the NHS and private sector.
Michaela, 39 employs five physios, male and female, at Moor Park and its town centre sister site, The Winckley Physiotherapy Centre on Winckley Street (telephone 888989).
As well as brain injury, they offer treatment for multiple sclerosis patients, sports injuries, whiplash, musculo-skeletal problems such as joint, neck and back pain, and many other conditions.
The two centres also offer acupuncture and traction.
Both are open weekdays 8am to 8pm, and on Saturdays, and can fit in with busy lifestyles – lunchtime and evening appointments are popular. They offer same-day emergency appointments as well as home visits.
Patients are referred by GPs and consultants or can simply ring up for consultations.
Both centres are registered with insurance companies.
