If you’ve never been to this fascinating shop in Barton on the outskirts of Preston, it’s well worth the drive – because you’ve missed a treat.

"Someone said it’s like wandering round the house of a friend with very good taste and wanting everything they’ve got – that’s the nicest comment we’ve had in our 18 years of business,” says owner Julie Round, who runs the shop with husband Steve.

The couple pick their stock carefully from more than 60 suppliers, buying British if possible.

All the furniture is beautifully accessorised with lamps, mirrors, and artwork, helping you imagine how it would look in your home.

Sofas by Wade are highly versatile with beautiful fabrics from luxurious glamour to practical looks for busy households.

Stunning chandeliers are on display but more bespoke pieces can be sourced, especially the oversized feature lighting, contemporary and traditional – not often seen elsewhere.

The gift range includes jewellery, photo frames, ornaments and scarves – all that little bit different. Spot something you fancy and the price will not deter you. “People who venture in return again and again,” says Julie. “We hope they’re pleasantly surprised at our prices and our ever-changing array of products.”

They want people to feel easy browsing – there’s no hard sell, just honest advice if requested. Customers come from afar – pop in to see what draws them!

Opening hours Monday- Saturday: 10am-5.30pm Friday: Closed Sunday: 11am-4.30pm

My favourite shop. Very very welcoming and helpful, but leaving you to browse to your heart's content without any pressure. I can always find gifts there, although can never resist buying something for myself! It's like an Akadin's Cave with real class. Thank you Julie and Steve.

Christine Kay of Kirkstone Avenue, Blackburn

A fantastic shop. From the moment you walk in the door, you find something you like. I have introduced many friends to Kopper Kettle - all make a repeat visit. No pressure to buy and always a friendly welcome. Thank you Julie and Steve and all the staff.

Alexis Eastham of Wigan

Love this shop. Been coming back to it again and again for over 15yrs. Can always pick up something special with no-pressure sales. We've got our eye on the antique desk, chair and bookshelf in the window display at the moment. Thank you for the acquiring such beautiful items.

Maggie Nicholson of Marynbank Close, Fulwood,

Love Kopper Kettle - I've been going in since it first opened and don't think I've ever come out empty handed. Especially love jewellery, scarves and bargain corner.

Julie J of Rochdale

I saw this shop advertised in Lancashire Life and wanted to visit. I had a fire at home and was looking to replace furniture and assessories. What a fantastic and beautiful shop! I have been back twice since and am due another trip shortly. I have recommended my friends and they are all delighted with the venue and choice of goods on offer. Something for everyone! We have followed our shopping trip with lunch at Sparling just up the road which is another fabulous establishment.I am thrilled to have found the things that are on offer in this lovely Lancashire village.

Jill Brennan of Chorley

What a find! This shop has the most wonderful stock and is a joy to browse. There is helpful support on hand, excellent customer service and no pressure to buy. You don't need to ask the price - everything is ticketed and you can afford it. Great for gifts and beautiful pieces of furniture. I have never left empty-handed.

Tracy O of Leighton Avenue, Fleetwood

Thank you Julie and Steve for such excellent, friendly service. Julie your patience, advice and understanding of what we wanted in a suite has given us exactly what we wanted. We love our new suite and the colours are perfect. Highly recommended.

Elizabeth of South Shields NE34 7ST

Visit your fabulous shop every time we visit our family in Barton. This year we will not be there until Christmas, very disappointed I cannot buy lots of presents as I usually do. A beautiful ambience with reasonable prices and welcoming (but not pushy) staff. Wish I could buy online. Bought a bracelet last Christmas for a friend. This was a gift for her birthday in March. Unfortunately the clasp broke several weeks later. I sent Julie an email and she replaced it without question. This is what service is all about. Much prefer shopping at Kopper Kettle than any department store

Craig Greenwood of St Annes Road, Blackpool

Cracking shop. Lovely choice of things to buy. Very friendly no pressure to buy. Great service. Nice atmosphere when browsing. Always struggle to come away without buying something. Congratulations to Steve and the staff for sourcing such interesting and unique things to buy. Many thanks

Val H of The Croft, Bury

I had passed this shop on a couple of occasions and went in for the first time yesterday. It was like an Aladdin's cave and I really didn't know where to look first as so many things kept catching my eye. The owners were on holiday but the lady looking after the shop was very knowledgeable and left me in peace to wonder round but was most helpful when we started chatting. I saw a gorgeous mirror which would have been perfect, and was given the measurements but unfortunately once home it would have been far too big. I can't wait to get the decorating finished now so I can visit again and pick up some gorgeous bits and pieces which I have my eye on. Well worth a visit.

Irene Jones of Blackpool

I cannot think of a better shop to browse away an hour or so. The items are stunning and unusual to say the least. You will be hard-pressed to find a better range for beautiful gift ideas for the people who have everything. I visited again this week taking my family from the South with me. Needless to say we did not leave empty-handed All the members of staff are so lovely, kind and so helpful. It is a pleasure and a joy to shop there. Don't miss the chance to visit if you can - you will not be disappointed.

Louise M of Duddon Road, Askam-in-furness

A fantastic shop. On a trip out with my friends to Barton Grange we came across this shop & what a lovely little find it was! You can walk round the shop four times or more (like we did)& find something different every time round. It makes you want to redecorate your whole house. Very relaxed atmosphere with friendly owners. Will definitely come back again now we have found you.
