Transform your outdoor space with the help of Bannister Hall. The family-run business – originally set up by Alan Lovell as a specialist resource for architects and landscapers looking to create beautiful gardens for their clients – has recently seen a marked increase in the number of home owners looking to source materials for their gardens. Keeping ahead of hard and soft landscaping trends, Bannister Hall has a wonderful collection of Buxus balls, spirals and architectural Bonsai with geometric shapes that create a stunning focal point on a lawn or terrace. The paving display area has been designed to give ideas and tempting possibilities, showcasing resin-bonded gravel, porcelain paving, sawn paving and PietraPave. PietraPave is one of Bannister Hall’s own exclusive products which is a natural stone, pre-cut and pre-glued to matting, allowing for stunningly intricate paving designs that can be laid in a fraction of the time it takes using traditional methods. Alan’s son Bradley explains: “A perfect example of this is the Chartres Labyrinth at St Andrew’s Church in Longton, where more than 30 square metres of setts were laid with tremendous accuracy to a bespoke design in only four-and-a-half hours.” Bannister Hall also provides a full installation service for beautiful, resin-bound driveways which are increasingly popular with homeowners who can view the colour options on display. Alan’s daughter Sally-Anne says: “With a collection of pots from the Basque region, sleepers, decking, water features, bark, slate, decorative gravel and top soil, Bannister Hall has everything for professional landscapers, novice gardeners and builders.” Gardening trends are watched closely by the team, who each have a specialism that enables them to give customers – from professional architects and landscapers to members of the public – the very best advice. Alan adds: “We offer a valuable link between the customer and a reputable landscaper or garden designer, as we have an extensive network of quality contractors to call on.”

Bannister Hall Landscapes can deliver trees up to nine metres tall on its fleet of lorries and plants and tree manager Dave Newsham is happy to source unusual species for clients who want something a bit different. Just ring and the staff will be happy to offer advice.
