How things have changed at Sleepy Hollow Bed Centre in the past two years. This family-run firm has moved into a purpose-built showroom behind the orginal shop which was on Pall Mall, Chorley – and also opened a new sofa centre last year. Situated on Cottam Street, Sleepy Hollow stocks beds and bedroom furniture to suit all budgets, with everything from inexpensive guest beds to top-of-the-range 6,000 pocket sprung pure luxury. Established in 1984 by John Godfrey, the shop is now run by John’s son Steve (pictured, right) and grandson Liam (left) – so three generations of the Godfrey family have been involved in the success story. Steve says: “Sleepy Hollow has maintained a presence in the heart of Chorley for 32 years and is well known to people from the surrounding area, including the villages. “Our customers know that, above all else, we pride ourselves on offering top-quality service, value for money and, some would argue most importantly, after-sales care – and that is something that some of our bigger rivals cannot guarantee.” With a combined knowledge of more than 75 years in the trade, Steve, Liam and the team are more than equipped to offer you expert advice when making the all-important decision of which bed to choose. With so many in stock this is no easy task – but let the Sleepy Hollow staff give you the benefit of their advice. Liam says: “We have a wide range of options to choose from, now extending to sofas. With named brands such as Silent Night, Myers, Salus, Gainsborough Beds, Healthopaedic and Sweet Dreams, plus a good range of inexpensive guest beds, there is a good choice to suit all price points.” And the fully trained delivery team will bring your new bed and can take your old one away as part of their recycling service. Trained to the same high standards as the sales team, their primary concern is customer satisfaction. There are more than 55 beds on display and more than 15 ranges of bedroom furniture. Quality suppliers include SJ Units, a firm from Wigan, plus Rauch and Harrison Brothers. There is also a large range of solid oak bedroom furniture to view. Steve adds: “Our newly-updated website offers the option of buying online and there is really no reason to go elsewhere. “Customers can choose their own fabric colour schemes for bed bases and headboards with certain manufacturers, so why not pop in and see what we can offer you?” The store is open seven days a week. There is disabled access to the shop and ample free parking outside the showroom.
